Barren biddies and birth control:
If you have the slightest interest in the survival of the human race or in anything else for that matter you have surely run across the remark, referring to the collapse of fertility among women in the productive middle class, “Women are postponing having children in order to get their professional careers started first.”  By now you should know enough to realize that this is just a piece of wishful thinking.  I have some numbers.

If women are postponing babies for career purposes, then inevitably older women should be using birth control LESS than younger women.  If you can’t follow that, please drop by here on the way to the institution.  So here are numbers (Nicholas Bakalar New York Times, December 25, 2018 “Take a Number 64.9” D3).

Women on birth control: 64.9%.
15-19: 37.2%.
20-29: 61.9%
30-39: 72%
40-49: 73.7%

So there you go.  They aren’t “postponing children for their careers.”  Damn; you don’t think they are lying to you, do you?  CONSPRIACY THEORIES!!!  Nope.  They would have recruited me.  But delusion, yep.  Nobody is thinking but me and thee, and sometimes I wonder about thee.
